The catchments of the main dams, weirs and pumping stations under the jurisdiction of the Northern Region Water Resources Office, include Gongliao Weir Catchment (Shuangxi Creek), Badu Pumping Station Catchment (Keelung River), Zhitan Dam Catchment (Xindian River), Shihmen Reservoir Catchment (Dahan River), Sanxia River Pumping Station Catchment (Sanxia River) and Shangping Weir Catchment (Touqian Creek). The hydrological overview is presented as follows:

The Gongliao Weir is located in the downstream of the Shuangxi Creek in the northeast corner of Taiwan. The catchment covers a total area of approximately 116 square kilometers. The terrain gradually declines from the west to the east. The main tributaries are the Dingzilan Creek and the Mudan Creek. In this catchment, there are three rain stations, Shanglin Elementary School, Shuangxi Elementary School and Jilin Elementary School. Their locations are shown in the following figure. The annual average rainfall of this catchment is 5,090 mm.

The Badu Pumping station is located in the midstream of the Keelung River. The catchment covers a total area of approximately 153 square kilometers, and the terrain declines from the south to the north. The rain stations in the catchment are Ruifang, Sanchaling and Huoshaoliao, and their locations are shown in the following figure. The annual average rainfall is 4,666 mm.

The Zhitan Dam is located in the mid-lower stream of the Xindian River. The catchment area is of about 680 square kilometers. The main tributaries of the upper stream are the Nanshi Creek and the Beishih Creek. The Feitsui Reservoir is built along the Beishih Creek, whose catchment area is of 303 square kilometers. As shown in the following figure, there are six rain stations along the Beishi Creek and three rain stations along the Nanshi Creek. The annual average rainfall is 3,987 mm.

The Shihmen Reservoir is located in the mid-lower stream of the Dahan River. The catchment covers a total area of approximately 763 square kilometers. The terrain declines from the south to the north. As shown in the following figure, there are 10 rainfall stations. The annual average rainfall of this catchment is 2,671 mm.

The Sanxia River Pumping Station is located in the midstream of the Sanxia River. The catchment area is of about 61 square kilometers. The terrain declines from the south to the north. The rainfall stations in the catchment are Dabao and Mt. Xiongkon, and their locations are shown in the following figure. The annual average rainfall of this catchment is 3,444 mm.

The Shangping Weir is located in the Shanping Creek, a tributary of the Touqian River. The catchment area is of about 233 square kilometers. The terrain declines from the south to the north. The rainfall stations in the catchment are Taigena, Bailan and Xueba. The locations are shown in the following figure. The annual average rainfall is 2,313 mm.
